e have an exciting opportunity to join our Supported Accommodation Unit based in New Malden, as a Night Support Worker
The role requires unsociable hours. The post holder would be expected to work 20 hours a week made up of 2 shifts of 10 hours on Thursdays and Sundays. This will consist of two hours awake from 10pm to 12am and then sleep in from 12am until 8am. On weekends the shift finish time is 10am. This is subject to rota changes to meet the needs of the service.
To support the service staffing needs you may be required to work some shifts at Green Leas in Kingston.
Please note that the pay scale listed is pro rata and this is a part time role.
About the role
As a Night Support Worker you will be responsible for providing sleep-in support to the care leavers accommodated at Beverley House, which is one of our support accommodation units. The role requires unsociable hours.
The key responsibilities include:
To respond to any issues or emergency situations throughout the night and follow the correct policies and procedures should any issues arise
Identify and record any safeguarding issues and facilitate relevant referrals to safeguarding services in accordance with the HOST & Achieving for Children’s Safeguarding procedures.
Help deliver independent life skills sessions with young people e.g. cooking, budgeting, cleaning, access to education and employment etc
Ensure that regular health and safety checks of communal areas and equipment are completed, logged and actioned appropriately and that communal areas, including external areas, are kept clean and hazard free and reporting any maintenance and repair issues.
Accurate record keeping & Identifying/recording any safeguarding issues, incidents and accidents
