Description
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an award-winning garden services company. We are looking for an organised and financially minded Office Administrator to help coordinate administration and financial activities for our garden services teams and lifestyle store. The role is varied and dynamic, covering office management (60%) and finance (40%). You will play a key role in ensuring the business runs efficiently, handling everything from scheduling to bookkeeping. Responsibilities: Office Management & Administration (60%): Maintain and update office management systems, policies, and procedures. Assist with garden maintenance work scheduling and staffing rotas. Handle HR tasks, including advertising roles, onboarding new starters, and managing staff absences/holidays. Coordinate purchases of materials and equipment. Answer client calls and emails, ensuring excellent customer service. Manage business insurance and trade body memberships, including renewals and updates. Keep company policies and staff handbooks up to date. Assist with marketing materials, including leaflets and mailshots. Support with other ad-hoc office tasks as required. Finance (40%): Bookkeeping and bank reconciliation, supported by external accountants. Monitor income, expenditure, and cashflow forecasts. Code transactions for financial analysis by department, product, and service. Prepare payroll information and track staff holidays/absences. Raise and process sales invoices and receipts on Xero, including debt chasing and reconciliation. Assist with month-end financial processes and profit & loss reporting.
Requirements
Strong numeracy skills and excellent written and verbal communication. Flexible and organised approach with strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of customer service. Advanced Excel skills and experience using Xero or Sage accounting software. Strong financial acumen and understanding of budgeting. Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role at a senior or management level.
Benefits
Salary: £29,500 - £34,000 pro rata, depending on experience. Employee package: discretionary bonus & pension scheme. Holiday: 20 days + bank holidays. Flexible working hours with opportunity for increased hours as business grows Opportunity for increased hours as the business grows.
