Job Title: Operations Manager - Health Job Location: UKO, Moorfields, London, home, office and covering Greater London Salary: £33,342 per annum pro rata based on 35 hours per week (Plus ILW if applicable) Contract Type: Permanent We are recruiting a Health Operations Manager responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of operational services, key programmes and projects across the area, in line with the organisations strategy, directorate and area specific plans. As a member of the London health and local crisis response management team, the Health Operations Managers are responsible for leading a portfolio of health services, providing effective management and support of their teams, planning and managing their resources, maintaining quality standards and embedding a culture of continuous improvement, whilst demonstrating British Red Cross values in action. Health operations managers play a crucial role in extending social impact and evidencing the positive outcomes for people supported. A key focus of this role is the ongoing management, development, and renewal of existing services as well as the growth of new services in conjunction with the Director for London Health & Local Crisis Response, Business Partnerships and Development Manager (BPDM) and Commercial Bid Manager. The post requires evening and some weekend work, being part of a regular 24-hour duty officer on-call rota and potential emergency response duties at any time throughout the year. Experience of managing CQC regulated activities is desirable as the portfolio of the health operations manager could include responsibility for providing services that are regulated by CQC, which will include being the registered manager. This regulatory responsibility is recognised through an enhanced responsibility payment, which is in addition to the advertised salary. A day in the life of a Operations Manager - Health, will involve: Accountable for the performance of their health services, reporting regularly to the Director for London HLCR and service teams as appropriate. Lead on your elements of the regional business plan and staff survey action plan, including engagement with teams and support of two-way communication. Develop and maintain positive relationships with external organisations, including commissioners, VCSE organisations and other providers. Act as liaison between health services under your management and other directorates and departments within BRC. Act as operational specialist in service modelling and co-design. Lead on the renewal of contracts, service level agreements and grants, ensuring cost recovery targets are met. Meet all commissioner and internal reporting requirements Actively promote the work of the British Red Cross to potential commissioners, funders, service user groups and other decision makers and influencers - delivering presentations where appropriate. Monitor the delivery of existing services and remain receptive to potential improvements and extensions of services to better meet commissioner needs and prolong contract life. Maintain awareness of environmental influences that may impact services. To be a successful Operations Manager - Health, you'll need: Experience of successful operational management of health/social care-related services. Experience of developing services with NHS or Local Government partners and achieving agreed outcomes Experience of managing staff, volunteers and projects Experience of working with vulnerable people Understanding of how to improve service quality for the benefit of users Negotiation skills Effective organisational skills Public speaking and presentation skills IT literate. Experience of using Microsoft email, word processing and spread sheet packages Able to work and travel extensively throughout the London on a regular basis as appropriate, and more widely in the UK as required.
