About the Role
Come and join us as an Outreach Recovery Practitioner working in the borough of Kingston upon Thames. This is an exciting opportunity to support the homeless population into treatment to address drug and alcohol needs. You will be engaging with vulnerable individuals who are or may be at risk of homelessness and have experienced housing challenges, with substance misuse, alcohol, and mental health difficulties as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Your role will involve making positive changes in people's lives through a non-judgmental, recovery-based approach that values the strengths and choices of those individuals.
The Service
Via Kingston is a fully integrated substance misuse service, providing clinical and psychosocial interventions, operating from a main treatment hub in Surbiton. The team actively promotes recovery and works with individuals that are directly and indirectly affected by substance misuse, working with the local community to improve the health, wellbeing, and functioning of Kingston residents, irrespective of circumstance.
Experience
Experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly those facing homelessness and substance misuse challenges, is desirable.
About you
You should be compassionate, non-judgmental, and committed to supporting individuals in their recovery journey. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team are essential.
Qualifications
A relevant qualification in social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred, but not essential. A commitment to ongoing professional development is expected.
