Description JOB TITLE: Portable Appliance Tester (PAT) LOCATIONS: TFL Ne SHIFT PATTERN: 08.00 – 16.00 SALARY: £35,000 + company van ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE Responsible for conducting formal visual inspections and electrical safety tests on portable and fixed electrical appliances. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Visually inspecting appliances for damage like frayed cables, cracked plugs, wrong fuse, or physical damage. Carrying out a visual inspection, as well as a manual electrical examination using a portable appliance tester device Testing the appliance for earth continuity, lead polarity and insulation resistance, amongst other things, and showing if it has passed or failed the PAT test Completing safety inspections on several appliances & equipment at various TFL sites Recording test data within PAT Testing equipment Travelling to and from jobs working on planned work Working directly with the client onsite so must have excellent customer skills REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE UKRS Accredited or City and Guilds PAT Training Certificate Electrical experience in maintenance or installations would be an advantage
