About the Role
Imagine being faced with a world of exciting possibilities that could ultimately enable you to support our members and help shape the health policies of the future. As the UK’s largest trade union and professional body for nursing, we support over half a million members with unwavering loyalty and total commitment. We represent and develop them, support their practice and lobby on their behalf to make a positive difference to their working lives.
As a Pay Delivery Officer, you will work as part of a four-country team of Pay Delivery Officers and strategic pay leads. You will use your enthusiasm, positive thinking, and engagement skills to support members in understanding their pay and to build their power on pay, terms, and conditions. You will collaborate with staff, representatives, and members in your region to organise roadshows and ward walks to raise awareness about the RCN’s key pay, terms, and conditions campaigns, with a strong focus on job evaluation and the rollout of the recently launched suite of new national nursing profiles.
You will work with members to organise on pay locally and hold employers to account where necessary. Additionally, you will educate members on pay by delivering webinars and local training events, as well as project planning a range of pay delivery activities.
Every day will be filled with possibilities as you find new ways to manage and support the development of your team. Taking care of our members will be your primary role, while also recognising the opportunities new members bring as you work to organise on pay locally in your region.
Experience
Sound knowledge of nursing pay, terms, and conditions is essential. Experience in organising and engaging members, planning projects and events, and delivering training and education is required. Ideally, candidates will have a good understanding of job evaluation in the NHS and a background in member activism and organising.
About you
You will be enthusiastic, positive, and skilled at fostering strong professional relationships in a variety of settings. Efficiency, accuracy, and a genuine member focus in all aspects of your work are essential qualities.
Qualifications
No specific qualifications are stated; however, relevant experience and knowledge as outlined above are necessary to succeed in this role.
