Main duties of the job
We are embarking on an ambitious project to transform Data and Analytics at Synnovis. You will lead a Team of Data Analysts supporting the strategic vision set out by the Head of Data and Analytics. This is an exciting time as the EPIC Electronic Health Records (EHR) has recently been launched and will have huge benefits across the business. You will work to understand how to integrate this and other data repositories into a cohesive and robust analytical framework and architecture using industry standard best practices and techniques.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
At Synnovis, we are currently shaping the future of pathology services by creating a world-leading Hub and Spoke pathology network with our NHS partners. A large part of this modernisation will involve moving 70% of our services to a purpose built, state of the art Hub laboratory in the heart of London. For now, the job you are applying for will be based at one of our hospital sites however, from 1 April 2024 our people and services will start to move to our Hub laboratory in Blackfriars, Southwark, SE1, with some work remaining in refurbished essential services laboratories across our hospital network, focusing on the rapid turnover of urgent tests. Please do ask your recruiting manager if you wish to find out more.
Currently our offices are based in Paris Garden, Blackfriars SE1, or Francis House, Southwark SE1 however at present these are temporary locations. We expect to move to new offices in the Hub building located in Blackfriars in 2024.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support the Head of Data and Analytics in actioning the Data and Analytics strategy through targeted plans, projects and initiatives.
Continuous development, monitoring and improvement of data maturity including robust data architecture and data governance.
Work collaboratively to develop the Microsoft Power BI Service strategy including data integration and ETL processes bringing together data from various sources into a unified and accessible data repository.
Effectively implement robust Data Governance processes and procedures that ensures data quality, accuracy and consistency so that data sources are reliable and trusted in their use for business-critical decision making.
Ensure that the operational and national reporting cycle is delivered on time and to a high standard. Working closely with stakeholders to continuously review key objectives and suggesting areas of improvement where possible.
Undertake analyses as the need arises by the business using industry standard statistical techniques and tools.
Co-ordinate resources within the Team through effective time management, scheduling and delegation.
Be curious and informed about the latest trends in Data, Technology and Healthcare including industry best practices.
Refresh and improve skills through Continuous Professional Development and encourage your Team to do so.
Lead and mentor a team of Data Analysts encouraging teamwork, accountability, creative and critical thinking, problem solving and skills development
Continuously engage and collaborate with stakeholders across the business both technical and non-technical. Actively listening and working together to build a supportive community that fosters and influences excellence.
Synnovis is a pathology partnership between SYNLAB UK and Ireland, and the NHS, including sites, Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, to deliver and transform pathology services across South East London.
The partnership provides services to 1.7 million people living in South East London, as well as to hundreds of thousands of patients from outside the region who use local healthcare services.
The partnership provides diagnostics, testing and digital pathology for hospital trusts, GP services and other healthcare providers.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
Portfolio demonstrating industry acquired skills and knowledge of data analytics, business intelligence, or data management.
Desirable criteria
Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, or a similar quantitative discipline
Relevant certifications in IT, data analytics or statistics.
Experience
Essential criteria
Relevant work experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data management.
Desirable criteria
Previous experience in a Healthcare related field such as Pathology
Proven experience in a managerial or leadership role, with a track record of successfully leading teams and projects
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify trends, patterns, and insights from data.
Strong understanding of data modelling.
Desirable criteria
Strong understanding of data warehousing, and ETL processes.
