About the Role
We are looking for a Personal Assistant for a 33-year-old man with various difficulties including ASD (autism spectrum disorder), epilepsy, and challenging behaviours. The PA’s responsibilities include assisting him with daily life tasks such as personal care (toileting, clothing, washing), home assistance (meal preparation, laundry, cleaning), and community access (support when out in the community, dog walking). A suitable candidate must be comfortable with dogs and enjoy outdoor activities, particularly walking. Candidates should also be comfortable in a swimming pool with a depth of 1.3m. The ideal candidate will prioritize building a supportive and trusting relationship. Working hours will align with his routine, including weekends, evenings, and waking night shifts. Flexibility for various shifts is essential. Personal Assistants will maintain a detailed diary log of their shifts, including incidents and daily tasks, which must be submitted within 24 hours of completing a shift.

Experience
Experience with ASD and learning difficulties is desirable but not essential.

About you

Fit and healthy to undertake required duties, patient with excellent interpersonal skills, honest, cheerful, and creative. Must be able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard and comfortable with pets. Must adhere to high standards of health and safety and be comfortable with social activities such as swimming.

Qualifications
Full UK Drivers Licence is required as driving is part of this role. Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours.
