You'll: Develop a strategic platform engineering and services plan aligned with organisational strategies. Guide engineering teams to maximise Microsoft cloud services, fostering a culture of automation for streamlined processes. Cultivate an inclusive and accountable engineering culture in line with our values. Effectively manage expectations with senior management and stakeholders, facilitating early problem-solving and needs assessment. Be accountable for the operation and delivery of platform services, ensuring high-level service/product knowledge and serving as a single point of escalation Instil excellence and drives continuous improvement in processes, methodologies, standards, and technology choices embraced by the team. What does it take to be a Platform Operations Manager? Strong leadership and team management skills with a growth mindset, continuously challenging our current delivery and operational approaches. In-depth understanding of commercial service and software licensing agreements, including Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) agreements. Broad and recent technical background, enabling effective leadership and empathy with engineers. Experience in managing a portfolio of complex platforms and services within a modern enterprise. Coaching a team of analysts and engineers in modern working practices such as Agile, DevOps, and Lean, cultivating a culture of inspiration and strong relationships. Proven experience in forecasting, planning, and optimising delivery flow, resource efficiency, and momentum. Experience in complex problem solving and leading others through change and service transition. It is desirable but not essential that you have one or more relevant DevOps, Lean, or Agile management qualification, Cloud certification, network certification, such as Cisco Networking, unified communications certification, such as Microsoft Teams Telephony, service management, such as ITIL v4 Foundation or higher.
