About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled Policy Advisor to join the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) Policy Team on a permanent contract at an exciting time in the world of professional regulation. With changes to the legislation of the regulators we oversee on the horizon, a new Strategic Plan for the PSA in development, and a major review of our Standards for regulator performance well underway, our Policy work is more important than ever. You will be joining a small, highly effective team whose role it is to shape the PSA’s policy thinking and thought leadership, contribute to external policy developments, and support significant internal change projects. As Policy Advisor, you will be working alongside our Policy Managers, current Policy Advisor, and Policy Officer on a varied programme of work including project management, policy development, research, and stakeholder engagement. We currently operate a hybrid working policy. In the first six months of employment, full-time staff working over five days will be expected to attend the office three days a week; after this, the requirement is two days a week in the office. Experience
Experience in developing policy proposals from research findings.
About you
We are looking to recruit a Policy Adviser with the following skills and knowledge: able to understand the broader policy context and how individual work relates to the wider sector; able to understand qualitative and quantitative research; strong analytical skills; able to present policy and research findings clearly for a range of audiences; strong written, oral, and presentation skills. You will need a strong commitment to protecting patients and the public, and you will also need to share our values of integrity, transparency, respect, fairness, and teamwork.
Qualifications
No specific qualifications are required, but relevant experience and skills in policy development are essential.
