The Opportunity The PPA team is a high performing team that is now the largest PPA offtaker in the UK and is pushing the boundaries in terms of new innovations. The team focuses on buying renewable energy and associated certificates from a broad range of low carbon assets across the UK, through three separate routes: 1. Traditional PPA - standard offtake focused primarily on operational assets within a 3 year horizon. 2. Large developer PPA – bespoke product offerings focused on long term offtake from new large scale generation projects. 3. Corporate PPAs – delivering physical, virtual and private wire energy supply to corporate clients. What you’ll be doing In this role, you will predominantly work across the later two, large bespoke PPAs and Corporate PPAs by seeking opportunities, structuring agreements, gaining internal buy in and leading on commercial negotiations with clients. Working collaboratively with other parts of EDF, you’ll bring the best of our skills and knowledge to our clients. You’ll support the PPA Origination & Structuring Senior Manager to define the strategic direction of the business and maximise long term value creation at acceptable risk levels. Working closely with the Product Development and Marketing teams, you’ll ensure that the PPA business is supported with the right products, communications and events. Reviewing the existing portfolio with an eye on continuous improvement, you’ll create value and maximise return whilst maintaining strong market presence by engaging with key players in the UK renewables market. Who you are We’re looking for someone with good experience in delivering results against ambitious targets through the building and maintenance of effective relationships. You’ll have a detailed understanding of the GB electricity market, low carbon instruments (CfD, ROC, REGO), and will be demonstrably numerate, can analyse trends, and evaluate risks. Having direct CPPA experience will be a clear advantage. You will have exceptional commercial acumen and be able to spot opportunities for growth, will have the ability to identify new business prospects and foster relationships utilising a diverse range of techniques.
