About the Role

The role sits within the RSPB's Global Conservation team and within the Policy and Advocacy Directorate, working with colleagues across multiple teams and the four UK countries. You will coordinate the activities of the RSPB's UK marine programme board, working towards building resilient seas and thriving seabird populations through the provision of safe places to breed and feed, and reducing mortality. This position is crucial for ensuring the right governance structure and frameworks are in place to keep the programme on track and aligned with the organisation's strategic priorities. You will work with individuals both within and external to the organisation to maximise RSPB impact in driving change in the marine environment. The role will ensure timely and effective delivery of strategic priorities across Marine Protected Areas, fisheries, and renewables workstreams, producing relevant programme documentation and outcome reporting. Additionally, you will draw together RSPB expertise from multiple teams, including policy, operational, and science teams. This role requires a clear communicator who can organise work to manageable targets, take responsibility for overall progress against strategic objectives, manage programme budgets where relevant, and support activities and events in a timely manner.
