Lewisham College aspires to be the provider of choice for young people in Lewisham and the surrounding boroughs. We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and energetic Progress Coach to join us in creating bright futures for our young Creative learners. Are you passionate about striving to understand the individual needs of learners and giving them the best possible support and motivation to achieve their aspirations? Do you want to make a profound difference to the opportunities and life chances of our learners? This is a pastoral role to provide additional tuition and coaching to small groups of learners and individual students to address support needs. You will be case managing individual students providing intervention and referrals cross college. This will include supporting learners to develop essential learning skills - organisation, communication, critical thinking, problem solving, digital literacy, motivation, resilience, confidence. Working with the teaching team, you will provide support for learners to improve attendance, punctuality, behaviour and achievement. Taking a restorative approach, you will work with staff and learners to find solutions to challenges and build relationships effectively. You will liaise with parent and other external agents including social workers to ensure successful outcome. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure and you will be working in a college where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where learners are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible. You are highly motivated, confident and communicate effectively. Quality is crucial for us and you will be well organised, have a good eye for detail and have high expectations. You will have expertise in working with young Creative learners and supporting young people aged 16-19, across a wide range of backgrounds and abilities.
