About The Role
The Capital Programme Delivery Team is a large technical department made up of construction professionals from a range of disciplines such as architects, building surveyors/project managers, quantity surveyors, clerks of works and mechanical and electrical engineers. The team is responsible for delivering multi-million-pound programmes of planned maintenance and improvement works to the council's extensive and diverse social housing stock across the borough, from estates to mansion blocks and street properties. This role will be key to the Fire Safety Delivery Team. The successful candidate will be collaborating with a fantastic team that thrives to deliver outstanding quality work throughout the borough of Islington Council. Key Responsibilities
Working as part of a project team but also as an individual officer, take direct responsibility for the communication strategy for each project assigned to you. Act as the “go to” person for advice/information on resident consultation for the Fire Safety Team.
Develop good working relationships with colleagues elsewhere in the organisation to assist you with your work, in particular consultation staff working within the Council’s Homeownership Unit, departmental and central complaints officers, area housing officers and Housing Partnerships teams.
Develop excellent and productive working relationships with counterparts working for contractors (resident liaison officers).
Undertake minuting of other project related meetings, providing accurate, typed minutes within ten working days of meetings.
Introduction Fire Safety Team
We are a team that has grown over the past 18 months, we currently have sixteen people that are part of our team.
We are recruiting a further five positions throughout 2024 to achieve delivering multiple contracts throughout Islington.
The team is lead by Neil Ridsdale (Group Leader) and he is assisted by four senior managers that oversee all aspects of delivering outstanding works.
