About the Role
We are seeking Public Health Practitioners to join the team at level A, the entry point of the role. You will need to demonstrate the relevant knowledge, experience and skills to get started, and you will be supported through induction, probation, and a supportive Performance Appraisal and Career Conversation. Through your induction, you will be introduced to the Career Progression Framework (CPF), which helps identify your strengths and development needs.
The primary aim of the role is to improve the health and wellbeing of the population of Medway by delivering the Healthy Way programme in the community. Healthy Way is a 12-week course delivered to groups of up to 25 adults who want to make lifestyle changes. Topics covered include the Eat Well Guide, Type 2 diabetes, behavioural change, sleep, and more.
Healthy Way courses are scheduled around the facilitator’s availability. We are looking for three facilitators on zero-hour contracts to join the team with flexible availability. Full training will be provided.
The successful candidate will need to have good communication skills, be non-judgemental, flexible, and a self-starter who enjoys connecting with people.
The post holder will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
Career Progression Frameworks (CPF) provide a mechanism for employees to take ownership of their development and be rewarded accordingly. The salary offered will be at level A unless you demonstrate criteria for level B or C. There will be opportunities to progress within the role.
Experience
Applicants must demonstrate all essential criteria listed at level A in the person specification through their application and interview. Experience relevant to public health practice and community engagement is desirable.
About you
You should be a good communicator, non-judgemental, flexible, and a self-starter who enjoys working with people. You must be motivated to support lifestyle changes and community health improvement.
Qualifications
All essential qualifications and competencies are detailed in the job profile. Progression to higher levels (B and C) requires further developed competencies and qualifications as outlined in the Career Progression Framework.
