Ready to make a difference in Greenwich? Join us as a Recovery Practitioner and support individuals on their journey to overcome substance misuse! The Role You will be a dynamic, driven individual who is committed to supporting the local Opiate, Alcohol dependant and Non-dependant substance misuse community and their associated needs by: • Working with the local community, making every contact count through motivational interviewing and brief advice and intervention. • Identifying and targeting known hot spots, including partnership working and joint operations as required. • Supporting the Royal Borough of Greenwich (to collate and gather information from a range of sources, including street drinkers, partner agencies and residents). • Supporting those in the area into mainstream services and working with local providers to enhance provision for this hard to engage population. As well, you will: • have experience of working with people who are experiencing substance misuse difficulties or who are vulnerable. • carry a caseload ensuring that assessments of need are conducted thoroughly, that safeguarding of people, their families and the wider community are protected from harm. • have responsibility for planning and delivery of effective treatment interventions to those that use our services. • deliver face to face, group work utilising evidenced based interventions. The Service Launched in 2020, Via Greenwich is a fully integrated substance misuse service, providing clinical and psychosocial interventions, operating from a main treatment hub in Woolwich. The team actively promotes recovery and works with individuals that are directly and indirectly affected by substance misuse, working with the local community to improve the health, wellbeing and functioning of Greenwich residents, irrespective of circumstance. Location This role will be in the Royal Borough of Greenwich (821 Woolwich Road,) providing a service across the whole borough but based Charlton. You may be required to work flexibly to provide some evening sessions and from other satellite services throughout Greenwich Borough where you will be able to support the local community.
