About the Role
Join our team as a Recovery Practitioner and make a real difference - empowering lives, one step at a time. You will support the local opiate, alcohol dependent and non-dependent substance misuse community and their associated needs by working closely with the community and partner agencies. Key responsibilities include making every contact count through motivational interviewing, brief advice and intervention, identifying and targeting known hot spots, supporting the Royal Borough of Greenwich in gathering information from various sources including street drinkers, partner agencies and residents, and helping individuals access mainstream services. You will carry a caseload, ensuring thorough assessments of need, safeguarding service users, their families and the wider community, and planning and delivering effective treatment interventions. Delivery of face-to-face and group work using evidence-based interventions is essential. The service, launched in 2020, is a fully integrated substance misuse service providing clinical and psychosocial interventions from a main treatment hub in Woolwich. The team promotes recovery and works with individuals directly and indirectly affected by substance misuse to improve health, wellbeing and functioning across Greenwich.
Experience
Experience working with people experiencing substance misuse difficulties or who are vulnerable is required.
About you
You are a dynamic, driven individual committed to supporting the substance misuse community. You have strong interpersonal skills to engage hard-to-reach populations, work collaboratively with partner agencies, and deliver motivational interviewing and brief interventions effectively. You are able to manage a caseload responsibly, conduct thorough assessments, and safeguard vulnerable individuals. Flexibility to work evenings and across multiple locations within the borough is desirable.
Qualifications
Not explicitly stated, but relevant experience and skills in substance misuse support and treatment interventions are essential.
