The Role Based within the Better Lives Islington Drug and Alcohol Service, this Recovery Practitioner role will offer aftercare support to adults who use our services in Islington to help them achieve their recovery goals, via 1:1s and structured groupwork packages. The role will involve the following elements: • To deliver aftercare support to people who use our services and their significant others, including family members, friends and carers, to facilitate positive outcomes. • To manage a caseload and coordinate and deliver assessment and evidence based interventions (brief and structured), recovery planning and aftercare planning. • To work collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholders across multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring adherence with all Via policies and safeguarding principles. The Service Better Lives is an integrated drug and alcohol service delivered by Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with Via and Humankind. We offer a free and confidential support service for individuals and their families affected by drug and alcohol problems. Our specialist team include substance misuse practitioners, doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists and pharmacists, complementary therapists, volunteers and peer mentors. Together we offer a high quality and professional service that supports individuals and their families who wish to receive advice and treatment for their drug and/or alcohol problems. We also offer advice and training to local community organisations, ETE, re-integration and aftercare support. Location Better Lives Islington, 28B King Henry’s Walk, London, N1 4PB.
