About us
The Cancer Research UK & UCL Cancer Trials Centre (CTC) is a UKCRC registered and NCRI Clinical Trials Unit group member .
It is one of the largest cancer trials centres in the UK, with more than 115 members of staff.
The CTC develops and conducts high quality phase I-III clinical trials in oncology, as well as having expertise in screening and early detection, systematic reviews, and large scale genomic and observational studies. Our aim is to improve patient care and clinical practice, by driving collaborative research to improve the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join a dynamic and supportive team of statisticians, at one of the largest cancer clinical trials units in the UK.
Working across a variety of disease areas within oncology, including novel targeted drugs, surgery, radiotherapy, and advanced cell and gene therapies, your role would largely be that of an academic clinical trial statistician: from trial concept through to analysing, interpreting and publishing the trial results as co-author. In addition, you are encouraged to develop your own research interests and collaborative projects, either methodological or using data from the trials centre.
Another exciting part of the role is the opportunity to teach at a world-leading university. The CTC delivers medical statistics and computing courses, offers a one-to-one consultancy service, and contributes to UCL-led BSc and MSc courses which can involve supervising student projects.
The post is funded for 3 years in the first instance, on a renewable Cancer Research UK programme grant.
Please see job description for full details.
About you

An MSc in medical statistics (or related) and relevant experience as a statistician using statistical programming are required. You will be provided with excellent training opportunities, ranging from internal/external courses to international conferences, where you can learn about new statistical methodology, computing packages or disease-specific topics.
