The UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources (ISR) generates knowledge in the globally sustainable use of natural resources and trains the future leaders of the field. About the role We are seeking a Research Fellow/ Senior Research Fellow to work on the support the ‘Policies and pathways to climate compatible development’ workstream, a key research strand of the Climate Compatible Growth (CCG) programme. CCG aims to support investment in sustainable energy and transport systems that meets low carbon development priorities in low- and middle-income countries. We invite applications from post-doctoral researchers with expertise in technologies and business models for energy access to contribute to conceptual and empirical research on just transitions. The ideal candidate will have experience working in interdisciplinary research environments engaging on energy, climate and just transitions, and is confident working in a dynamic setting and with diverse and international stakeholders. They will have experience with generating and analysing qualitative data, undertaking policy analysis, and the ability to analyse large datasets e.g. in Python. The post is available from 01 October 2024 and is funded for six months in the first instance, further funding to support the post may become available. We are expecting interviews to take place on the 09 September 2024. About you The ideal candidate will have experience working in interdisciplinary and international research teams. They will have demonstrable experience of applied research in sub-Saharan Africa, and experience undertaking and overseeing qualitative and quantitative data collection, including analysis of large datasets in Python.
