About the Role
You will manage the retirement housing scheme Ashton Court in Camden, which comprises 24 flats for residents aged over 55 who are semi-independent. This full-time permanent role involves supporting vulnerable and elderly residents, fostering a safe and supportive community. Regular social activities such as coffee mornings are part of the scheme to encourage resident engagement. As Scheme Manager, you will work closely with the Retirement Housing Manager to deliver a high-quality service. Although the role involves predominantly lone working, you will be part of a wider team providing housing services to older people across Chelmsford, Barnet, Finchley, Camden, and Hertfordshire. This rewarding position requires building strong relationships and trust with both residents and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact for residents and their families
- Write and review reports and complete risk assessments
- Respond to emergency situations via the Warden Call system during daytime hours
- Ensure all Health & Safety policies and procedures are maintained, including prompt reporting and follow-up of communal repairs
- Carry out regular scheme and estate inspections, including fire alarm tests and fire safety inspections

Experience
- Experience working with vulnerable adults in a semi-independent housing service
- Strong understanding of the needs of older people
- Knowledge of welfare benefits and health and safety procedures relevant to this service
- Experience supporting residents with benefit applications and making referrals for additional welfare advice
- Experience working in a customer-focused environment, preferably in housing
