Safeguarding Advisor - Global Surge Team (x2 positions) Job Location: Remote working, flexible across the UK with deplo yment up to 75% of the year (Home or International) Contract Type: Year Fixed Term Hours: 35 hours per week (typically Mon - Fri, 9am - 5pm)
Salary: £42,923 (this includes £6,000 market supplement) per annum
Could you champion transformative safeguarding practices? Join us in driving the implementation of Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) standards at the core of Red Cross' mission.
By joining us, you'll make a tangible impact by providing hands-on support, coaching, and mentoring to partner National Society leaders and safeguarding focal points. Your main focus will be PSEA and Child Safeguarding. Every step forward in this space is a stride toward a safer world for these vulnerable groups. A day in the life of a Safeguarding Advisor In this exciting and rewarding role typical activities you'll be involved in include:
Developing partnerships with National Society leadership.
Influencing stakeholders for effective implementation of safeguarding programs.
Leading safeguarding organizational assessments and reporting findings with recommendations.
Providing specialist advice and practical support for policy development.
Assisting National Society focal points in safeguarding risk assessments and implementing mitigating measures.
Offering practical advice and support for implementing mitigating measures.
Capturing evidence and learning through the development of case studies.
Facilitating peer learning through national and local networks, peer support meetings, and IFRC Safeguarding Hub engagement.
To be a successful Safeguarding Advisor, you'll need
Significant knowledge in international safeguarding, particularly PSEA and Child Safeguarding.
Knowledge in international humanitarian issues and associated best practices
Proven project management skills, emphasizing interpersonal, coordination, organizational, and planning abilities.
Direct support experience for survivors of violence, exploitation, or abuse.
Safeguarding experience within UK or international organizations.
Proficient in developing an evidence base, including case studies, and sharing resulting learning.
Willingness to travel regularly and work in demanding environments.
The ability to contribute to a safeguarding culture, preventing sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment.
