Safeguarding As such, SCL want to ensure this is done with safety and wellbeing of the learners, children and adults at the heart of everything we do to have a maximum positive impact on their lives and this post has been created to sit within the Safeguarding and Health & Safety Directorate to further support the wider remit to minimize radicalization of children and adults, as outlined in the Counter Terrorism and Security Act 2015 (Statutory Guidance which came into force Sept 2023). Main Purpose of the Role To recognise and take seriously the duty of care to safeguard the wellbeing of children and adults who use SCL provision through a Prevent strategy and the commitment to ensure wider safeguarding practices reflect statutory responsibility and legislation and staff comply with best practice approaches. This will be achieved through supporting SCL as an education provider with their obligations in relation to the PREVENT duty, by providing advice, guidance, and upskilling staff to understand localised risks and working with stakeholders to educate children and adults from being drawn into radicalisation to minimize risks to them.
