Description
We have a fantastic opportunity for an organised, experienced Scheme Housing Officer to join our team in the London region. Reporting to a Team Manager, you will play a crucial role in providing support and excellent customer service to our residents residing in our Independent Living sheltered Schemes. This is a permanent role, working 35 hours per week. You'll help residents with housing management and tenancy issues, which includes dealing with low level rent arrears, low level anti social behaviour, repair matters and assisting with letting properties. You will also be liaising with other agencies and ensuring the safety and security of residents are a priority. You'll have daily contact with residents, contractors, and colleagues to coordinate and deliver services. This will include inspecting properties, supporting residents, ensuring the scheme is safe and secure and assisting with lettings. You will give a great service that makes our independent living housing schemes pleasant and safe places to live. We offer you a workplace where each day leaves you feeling inspired and fulfilled. You will need to be an excellent communicator, organiser, and team player with good administration skills; ideally you should have experience of coordinating and providing customer focused services within a housing or related community setting. It is essential that you have a strong understanding of the diverse needs of the elderly. What you will need to excel in this role: Good understanding of the diverse needs of elderly and vulnerable people Extensive and proven background in a similar role Resilient, self-motivated and ability to work alone at your scheme for most of the time Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, displaying good interpersonal skills in multiple modes (phone, face-to-face, emails and in writing) using customer friendly language Able to develop partnership working internally and with other agencies to generate effective solutions to problems Good negotiation, problem solving and influencing skills with a can do proactive approach Able to work flexibly and can prioritise work to meet deadlines and able to work under pressure with minimum supervision Able to receive and respond to customer feedback and complaints professionally at all times In your supporting statement, please address how you meet each of the above criteria providing real examples.
