About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Level 6 (CIAG) Qualified Careers Adviser to join the Education Development Trust youth careers team from Summer 2025. You will provide careers advice, guidance, and support to individuals and groups of young people at school or college. Key duties include conducting one-to-one guidance interviews and action planning with Year 11 and 12 students, including SEND, young carers, and vulnerable students; supporting parents' events and open evenings; maintaining the careers library and display boards; contributing to newsletters and engaging parents in their daughters’ careers education; sharing labour market information via Year Group Teams; completing CPD relevant to the role and school needs; supporting the Careers Leader to meet Gatsby Benchmarks; organising the annual Careers Fair and career information talks; coordinating the Year 8 Careers morning and Year 10 Interview Day in preparation for work experience; and supporting Careers Compass evaluations and reporting on student feedback. This role requires flexibility and independence while being part of a supportive wider team.

Requirements

Experience
- Level 6 qualification in careers guidance (CIAG)
- Experience working with young people, preferably in a school or college setting
- Knowledge of education, employment, training, and personal development opportunities available to young people, including labour market information
- Experience working with vulnerable groups and those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)

About You
- Ability to provide careers advice and guidance in one-to-one or group settings to support students' career aspirations
- Skilled in arranging career talks and a variety of student activities
- Able to engage and inspire young people with SEND and disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as their parents/carers
- Committed to supporting the Schools or College Careers Leader in implementing and enhancing the careers programme to meet Gatsby Benchmarks
- Demonstrates professional commitment to children's rights, equal opportunities, and diversity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexibly and independently while contributing to a team

Qualifications
- Level 6 qualification in careers guidance (CIAG) is essential
