About the Role
The Senior Development Manager will lead the delivery of some of London’s largest, most complex and strategic development projects for GLA Land and Property Limited (GLAP), the Greater London Authority’s commercial subsidiary for property investment, development and asset management. Reporting to the Head of Development, you will oversee three major projects and provide line management support to a Development Manager. Your role will involve close collaboration with legal advisors on contract matters, negotiation, attending design and planning meetings, stakeholder engagement, updating costs, revenue and housing delivery projections, and preparing executive and political briefings.
About the Team
The Housing and Land directorate manages the Mayor’s housing investment programmes and land and property assets to support the delivery of affordable homes, job creation, and regeneration across London. GLAP aims to deliver up to 68,000 new homes on the Mayor’s land and joint venture interests over the next 25 years, contributing to the Mayor’s objectives of building more affordable homes, creating jobs, and making London a Net-Zero city by 2030 through disposals, acquisitions, and asset management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage strategic development projects
- Interface with legal advisors and negotiate contract matters
- Attend and contribute to design, planning, and stakeholder meetings
- Monitor and update project costs, revenue, and housing delivery forecasts
- Prepare executive and political briefings
- Support and line manage Development Manager(s)

Experience
- Significant regeneration and/or development experience
- Strong understanding of procurement, design, project finance and viability, planning, and legal agreements related to development transactions
- Proven commercial and political awareness
- Effective relationship management and negotiation skills
- Strong project management capabilities
