Salary: £78,000 - £105,000

You'll be working on Kaluza's Payment team, an integral part of our Energy Retail Platform. Our mission is to provide end users with a great experience throughout the life of being a customer by enabling retailers to send accurate, compliant and timely bills in a low cost to serve manner and ensuring customers can manage their energy payments and credit with ease.
What will I be doing?
As a technical lead within the Payments team, you will be fully embedded within our engineering community, working across a range of initiatives to improve and build our future payments platform.
We believe our technical leads should work directly with engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship to ensure the products we produce are of a high quality and meet the customer needs whilst being scalable to meet our future needs. This collaborative approach will involve being hands on with the design and delivery, reviewing code and promoting engineering best practices.
Alongside this, you will work with the engineering manager to create and deliver a technical strategy whilst championing progressive architecture and solution designs with other engineering leads. Working closely with our product leads, designers and other senior leaders you will help define the future strategy of the platform.
Is this the job for me?
Ideally you'll have:
Strong analytics and communication skills
A depth of technical knowledge in at least one programming language (preferably Typescript)
A bias to action and a 'Can do' approach to problem solving in the face of uncertainty
Experience of mentoring, training and developing other engineers
An ability to deliver against a technical strategy iteratively, working through ambiguity to deliver change over longer periods
Experience of building and nurturing highly collaborative teams
An ability to collaborate with people managers, product managers and agile practitioners to contribute to a high-performing culture
Experience of payments services and platforms is a plus
Knowledge of a range of Payment Service Providers is a plus
Experience with event-driven architectures is a plus
Experience of programming in Typescript and/or Scala is a plus
