£50,961 to £61,398 per annum Full time Permanent CCW - Peckham Road, London UK The opportunity We’re looking for a dynamic and ambitious academic researcher and/or practitioner to take on the role of Senior Lecturer in Communication Design (Student Experience Lead). In this key role, you’ll work collaboratively within a Programme and Course team, deploying specialist expertise to develop pedagogy and the curriculum in innovative and critical directions and to lead on student experience responsibilities on the Course and Programme. The role will contribute to the Design School’s commitment to social design and belief that Design can make a substantial and positive contribution to the development of society, through engagement with sectors beyond the creative industries. About You Candidates will possess specialist knowledge and/or experience of Communication Design practice, theory and thinking, with an emphasis on teaching and learning. We seek candidates who demonstrate a commitment to advancing a scholarly and/or pedagogic agenda focused on design pedagogy, fostering inclusion, social and climate justice, and advancing equity in their teaching practice. Candidates will have a sound knowledge of the theories and practices in Communication Design and will be expected to develop these across the Course and Programme. Candidates should possess a record of research, knowledge exchange, and/or professional practice, with a proficiency in communication design practice, theory and concepts and knowledge of Adobe CC. Skills and knowledge in UX/UI, motion graphics, interactive/digital design are a bonus. Successful candidates will be active in research and/or knowledge exchange and possess a strong record of publications. An MA in Graphic Design or a relevant field is essential, and a PhD in Design or a relevant field (or near completion) is a bonus.
