Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum based on experience. As our Senior Manager for Packaging Design, you will be responsible for the creative concept, design and development of all Hotel Chocolat product packaging. Working closely with your peers across creative and category management, you will translate and develop our category and brand strategies into innovative and impressive designs. You will not simply deliver to expectation – you will be driving ideas that are creative, unexpected and with commercial potential, and like all of our products, impeccably presented. This means you’ll join us on site up to three days a week at our design office in Whitechapel, London, and for the other two days – you can work from wherever you like! What you’ll be doing…. Leading on all New Product Development packaging creatives from their initial concept through to hand-over to the production team. Redefining the initial brief and elevating projects to engage and inspire. Bringing the product and brand strategy and positioning to life; generating creative design ideas that are innovative, impactful, relevant, and consider the commerciality across our channels. Presenting concepts clearly and positively to influence your peers and senior stakeholders. Understanding the 360 omni-channel customer journey, touchpoints, and product strategies. Partnering with the development team and our external agency partner to ensure all products and packaging are commercially and operationally viable. Overseeing the development of design guidelines and toolkits to enable production partners to deliver in line with the concept. Who you are… You are a commercial and creative thinker, always utilising industry research and reference knowledge to deliver outstanding results. You’ll have an outstanding portfolio of packaging design experience, both structurally and graphically. Able to work autonomously and as part of a wider team, you are capable of managing competing multiple priorities whist maintaining effective, lasting relationships. A strong creative mentor, providing guidance to the Packaging Artworker direct report. Essential Excellent knowledge of paper, board, print and luxury print finishes. Expert user in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Knowledge of Visualisation software Experience leading and developing a creative/design team. Desirable Luxury retail packaging design experience, ideally, beauty, cosmetic or high-end food/drink. Who are we?
