We work to prevent vulnerable people from becoming homeless. We help formerly homeless people get their lives back on track. About this role…
We are looking for a Senior Practitioner to join the “In Work Progression” team the Employment and Skills team.
The area of Prevention supports vulnerable people by providing them with skills, housing advice, accommodation, and tenancy sustainment support. All the services within the area of prevention work to help people transition towards leading independent lives.
You Will
- Manage an Employment & Skills Project which supports people at risk of homelessness specifically in Southwark.
- Lead the team to support people to improve & acquire skills required to access mainstream employment.
- Work closely with our volunteer coordinator to recruit and manage volunteers.
- Run and set up employability workshops, develop accredited/ non accredited training and build / manage partnership with various stakeholders.
- Demonstrate project planning, financial and performance analysis.
- Develop professional relationships with multiple stakeholders including corporate partners and businesses is essential, as is a good understanding of the local and national labour market.
- Promote volunteering opportunities with external partners and in local communities in which we work. Ensure there is an evaluation and impact tool, to track performance in this area
To succeed as the Senior Practitioner, you will have:
- Proven success at developing team objectives/ outcomes and ensure team service delivery achieves those outcomes.
- Experience at building relationships with funders, and provide high quality outcome reporting to external commissioners.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to work with experience of supervising and supporting staff
- Confidence in managing a case load of people with multiple needs who are looking for new, better paid employment.
- The necessary I.T. skills to collate and interpret information and statistics on our clients and present these in external meetings
- Confidence in public speaking to enable you to represent Thames Reach to statutory and voluntary organisations
- Skill in working closely with other departments and offer training and support staff
