We work to prevent vulnerable people from becoming homeless. We help formerly homeless people get their lives back on track. About this role…
The area of Prevention supports vulnerable people by providing them with skills, housing advice, accommodation, and tenancy sustainment support. All the services within the area of prevention work to help people transition towards leading independent lives.
We are looking for an Senior Practitioner to join the Individual Placement Support team.
Thames Reach welcomes applications from people with transferable skills.
You will:
- Be an ambassador for people who need mental health support in Lambeth to get back into work. Building positive culture and sharing good practice.
- Work with your team to source good quality jobs, build and maintain relationships with a range of employers.
- Support the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) team to achieve their outcomes and work in line with fidelity model. Training will be given.
- Hold a caseload of people and support them to access work.
-To be integrated into mental health teams, meet regularly with NHS staff to co-ordinate and integrate employment support into mental health treatment, reduce barriers to access the service
- To develop good working relationships with other organisations which provide vocational services and support that can provide specific opportunities to help individuals achieve their employment goals.
To succeed as the Senior Practitioner you will have:
- Experience of working with and supporting people who have experienced mental health issues (or other unemployed disadvantaged groups) into employment
- Experience of partnership working, negotiation and liaison work with other agencies
- Experience of opening up job opportunities with a range of employers
- Experience of working with alcohol or substance misuse related issues
- Experience of line managing or supervising others, including in a volunteer capacity.
- Excellent written, reporting and IT skills.
