About the Role
Phoenix Futures is seeking a Senior Recovery Worker Practitioner to support people at HMP Pentonville in their recovery journey. As a Senior Practitioner, you will help individuals reach their goals and improve their lives through personalised care plans and recovery support. The role requires self-motivation, the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, and strong communication and organisational skills. You will have line management responsibilities, hold a caseload, and deliver group interventions. You will develop and implement intervention packages and build strong relationships with internal and external partners to ensure holistic support and continuity of care post-release. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, forward-thinking, and experienced in safeguarding and working with vulnerable adults affected by substance misuse and related issues. This role is also known in other organisations as Senior Recovery Worker, Recovery Co-ordinator, Criminal Justice Worker, or Substance Misuse Recovery Worker.

We provide personalised care plans to support individuals with substance use and alcohol needs. Our diverse team works closely with multiple partners within the prison and community to ensure holistic care and continuity post-release.

Experience
- Relevant experience in health and social care, ideally in problematic substance use, mental health, or a comparable field
- Experience of line management and safeguarding
- Evidence of managing a busy caseload or multiple tasks with excellent organisational skills
- Experience working with vulnerable adults presenting with substance, alcohol, and associated issues
- Evidence of effective partnership working and networking for client benefit

- Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Word, familiar with database management systems
- Understanding of complex issues faced by people entering custody
- Determined, driven to succeed, and willing to learn
