About the Role
Sense International is seeking a Senior Trusts and Fundraising Manager for a 10-month fixed term contract to join their Fundraising team. This role is pivotal in leading the strategic development and implementation of an ambitious Trusts and Foundations and Corporate fundraising strategy that supports income growth and deepens relationships with existing supporters while proactively engaging new Trusts, Foundations, and Corporate partners. Sense International’s Trusts and Foundations income has grown by over 200% in the last two years, and this role remains integral to continuing that success. You will have close proximity to projects and country teams, allowing you to see firsthand the impact of your work on children and young people with deafblindness. You will also manage a Fundraising Officer who supports the Trusts and Foundations portfolio and the emerging corporate foundations strategy. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing fundraising strategies and operational plans, leading on new business with medium to large donors (£100k+), creating innovative and compelling concepts for trust and corporate audiences, managing high-quality proposals aligned with funding priorities, providing line management and development support to the Fundraising Officer, communicating Sense International’s vision persuasively, involving Trustees and the Executive Team in relationship building, and supporting the development of a Change Makers Circle for high-value supporters.
Experience
- In-depth experience of trusts and foundations fundraising and knowledge of best practice fundraising techniques.
- Proven ability to identify and research trusts and foundations with potential to support specific causes.
- Experience building excellent senior relationships with trusts and foundations, including cultivation and stewardship plans.
- Experience working with senior Trustees and Executive Teams to explore networks for new approaches.
- Experience setting and managing budgets, including reforecasting and reporting against targets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate passionately and persuasively, making complex information accessible and convincing.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally to visit programmes and conduct donor visits.
