We currently have a new opportunity for a Team Leader to join our Beverley Lewis House team, providing a person-centered support service for women with learning disabilities, mental health and/or autism who are fleeing domestic abuse or harm.
Beverley Lewis House is the only safe house in the country for women with learning disabilities. It has won two national awards and appeared on Channel 4’s Dispatches show as an example of good practice. We are looking for passionate and energetic people to join our team and to help us maintain the excellent reputation that this scheme has gained.
The scheme only supports six women so this means that you will have plenty of time to carry out productive and meaningful work. The role involves helping people to live independently whilst recovering from trauma. You will be provided with extensive training on Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) interventions such as how to spot the things that might trigger someone who has experienced abuse and how to intervene. You will be trained on understanding each person’s PBS plan so you can help them to live well and be part of their local community.
As the Team Leader you will assist the Locality Manager with the operational delivery of the scheme and will be responsible for supervising and motivating a team of specialist support workers to provide person centred care and support services for women with learning disabilities and other complex needs. You will also assist with managing the financial and administrative procedures of the scheme on a day-to-day basis.
As a requirement of the role you will be working on a rota basis that includes some weekends, early mornings, afternoon shifts, nights, and sleep ins.
To be successful in the role you will have:
Experience of working with women with learning disabilities and other complex needs in a supported living environment, refuge, women’s advice center or specialist residential setting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an understanding of positive behaviour support and proven ability to work in a person-centered way
Experience supervising and motivating staff to deliver person centered care and support
Working knowledge of safeguarding procedures and workplace health and safety requirements including guidance for lone working
Diploma Level 5 in Health and Social Care or equivalent and relevant management qualifications or working towards

You will have access to our spot bonus scheme for demonstrating how you embed our values. If you go way and beyond, we will reward you with a spot bonus of up to £1000.
You will also be joining an organisation where 78% of our staff told us it’s a great place to work (2022) and 92% of staff told us their manager treats them with respect.
