About the Role
Hackney Council is seeking a skilled, enthusiastic, and experienced Strategic Finance Manager to join the Housing and Regeneration Finance Team. As the lead finance officer in the directorate, you will provide strategic high-level financial advice and support to senior management, working closely with the Assistant Director of Finance to establish robust financial controls during a challenging economic period for the public sector.
The successful candidate will have strong knowledge and experience in Housing Finance, particularly Capital and Housing Delivery, enabling them to provide leadership and support at a senior level. You will be responsible for the strategic management of the directorate’s financial activities, including financial strategies, revenue and capital budgets, accounts, financial systems, and financial reporting to Members and third parties.
This role involves close collaboration with staff across Regeneration, Economy, and Housing Delivery, including the Director. You will directly manage a team of two staff members and any apprentices assigned to the team.

Experience
Proven experience in Housing Finance, particularly Capital and Housing Delivery, with the ability to provide strategic financial leadership and support at a senior level. Experience working within local government finance or a similar public sector environment is essential.
Demonstrated ability to manage financial strategies, revenue and capital budgets, accounts, financial systems, and reporting to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications
Part CCAB qualified or extensive accounting experience with a solid understanding of local government Housing Finance, Capital, and Housing Development.
