Our students have very positive attitudes towards their learning and are fully supported in all aspects of wellbeing. We prioritise outstanding teaching and learning alongside wellbeing, ensuring all members of our community are cared for, valued and listened to. We support and challenge our students to aspire to be the very best they can be, enabling them to become responsible, capable and ambitious citizens with the highest expectations for achievement.
The role of Student Development Assistant reflects our commitment to fostering independent learners. This position moves beyond the traditional Learning Support Assistant role, focusing on supporting young adults to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with class teachers, Heads of Faculties, SEND teams, and the Head and Deputy of the Inclusion Faculty.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal records check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Redden Court School is dedicated to building and embracing a diverse, inclusive and equitable environment where everyone is welcome, included and given the opportunity to participate. We welcome applications from all sections of the community regardless of gender, gender identity, ethnic origin, disability, age or sexual orientation.
Experience
Recent experience working with young people is desirable. Experience supporting young people with Special Educational Needs is advantageous but not essential.
About you
You will have a positive approach, resilience and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to our vision, values and ethos are essential. The ability to speak a second language or use sign language would be beneficial.
Qualifications
No specific qualifications are required for this role, but a passion for supporting young people and a commitment to their development is essential.
