The Methodist Church
£58,000
Full-time
Description
The Vacancy
We are looking for a collaborative leader, clear thinker and compelling communicator who is passionately committed to enabling Churches to engage with issues of justice and peace.
The Joint Public Issues Team is an ecumenical team, which helps Methodist, Baptist and United Reformed Churches to pray, speak and act on issues of public concern. The Team Leader will lead a scattered team in developing and delivering strategies to support local churches and denominational bodies.
About you
We are looking for someone who has experience of enabling collaborative and creative teams, and can build constructive relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
You will be a gifted written communicator with strong presentation skills, and an ability to help people reflect both theologically and politically.
You will have a general knowledge of the areas of concern to the Churches, and the wisdom to offer advice to Church Leader and governance bodies. You will have experience of planning and delivering advocacy campaigns, and an understanding of the audiences with which JPIT works.
If you have a passion for justice and peace, and communication, policy and leadership skills, then you could help Churches in making a difference.
There is an occupational requirement to be a committed Christian and member in good standing of a member church of CTBI for this role.

We offer a generous occupational pension scheme, where the Methodist Church will pay double the employee contribution up to a maximum of 16% employer contribution.
