We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join an expanding team in a fast paced and exciting transformation portfolio. You will be working with multiple stakeholders across the transformation programme and with senior colleagues to support and deliver several complex programmes and projects with critical delivery timeframes. The role requires confident, competent, and experienced project professionals who are available immediately to join the team. The Transformation team work well together and support each other in the delivery of projects, working closely with colleagues across the organisation and the Trusts. Currently, we have adopted a hybrid working model with a mix of remote and site-based working depending on the needs of the individual projects. Main duties of the job You will be familiar with working across several projects/programmes and in leading and delivering complex solutions across a matrix stakeholder group and multiple organisations. You will have responsibility for specific projects/workstreams and their delivery to time and quality expectations. The role will require you to hit the ground running and be able to multitask, work under pressure and to tight timelines, be a self-starter using your initiative and best practice processes. Have a flexible and adaptable approach, with excellent organisational and communication skills, including liaising with Senior Stakeholders. You will have the ability to deliver and maintain standards in response to changing priorities and be calm under pressure accommodating changes as required. You will be comfortable in developing and maintaining a suite of project documents, supporting meetings, and working well with a broad range of colleagues. You will thrive in a busy team environment and quickly assimilate the role requirements and implementing them. Detailed job description and main responsibilities Working with the Commercial Services Director and other key stakeholders, the post holder will: Engage with key subject matter experts and stakeholders, both internally and externally, to gather and extrapolate the required information to deliver hub laboratory space that is the best value for the organisation whilst maintaining high quality approach Deliver the projects required for the delivery of the hub and other associated projects in line with all current policies and current legislation and apply 6 Sigma type approach to workflow arrangements Maintain and manage budgetary constraints, seeking and applying cost saving measures and value engineering solutions, bringing innovative design workflows and methodology Plan and schedule activities of external providers to deliver the projects, liaise directly with external sources and ensure projects are delivered, workflow is monitored, and corrective steps taken where needed. This includes the installation and verification of equipment Complete monthly resource forecasting, support budget setting and tracking spend Keep all stakeholders and decision makers associated with the project informed and up to date with activities changes and issues arising and produce succinct reports with confirmed information and data Work closely with SME and senior stakeholders to implement innovation in design, delivery, and construction of these projects Report on metrics and measures activity against set criteria in a regular and timely manner Engage with external suppliers Monitor and manage all variations to contract, charges of scope, changes, and substitutions of materials Ensure that other departments have the required level of input and have sight of plans & designs before committing to construction Attend, present at and fully contribute to planning, design, scheduling, finance, and other project related meetings. The partnership provides services to 1.7 million people living in South East London, as well as to hundreds of thousands of patients from outside the region who use local healthcare services. The partnership provides diagnostics, testing and digital pathology for hospital trusts, GP services and other healthcare providers. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Degree level or equivalent relevant experience Project Management Qualification E.g., PRINCE2, PMI, PMF, Agile Foundation and Practitioner Desirable criteria Lean Six Sigma Experience Essential criteria Experience of delivering cross functional projects. Experience of delivering projects in complex, fast paced and challenging environments. Experience of developing effective working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders to achieve goals. Ability to work autonomously, use own initiative and work effectively within a team. Ability to make informed decisions and achieve objectives whilst working with changing demands and priorities. Experience of researching and utilising best practice to inform work. Experience of presenting complex information to key stakeholders and large groups. Desirable criteria Experience of a pathology environment Experience of working in the NHS Skills and Knowledge Essential criteria Setting up projects: identifying scope, objectives, interdependencies, risk/issues. Planning; mapping critical paths, Gantt charts, engagement, and communication. Delivering projects: Monitoring /reporting progress; Benefits realisation. Analytical approach to problem solving and can interpret and communicate complex information and data sets. Excellent report writing and skills. Good understanding of resource and budget management. Excellent ability to use a range of software packages, including a project Management Tools Advanced in Microsoft Word, Excel (including pivot tables), PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint. Enthusiastic and conscientious and looks for continuous improvement in self and processes.
