Trunk Sewers Technician
Location
Bow, covering North and East London.
Hours
6:30 am – 3:45 pm, with 1 week out of 5 on the night shift from 9:00 pm - 5:30 am. Participation in an out-of-hours standby rota is required.
Salary
£27,465 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
About the Role
Working as part of a team of 5, this manual role involves the day-to-day maintenance of the Victorian trunk sewer network in London. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, investigations, and safety cover. This safety-focused role requires working in confined spaces (CP2 confined space rescue qualification), at heights, and lifting heavy loads. You will perform physical maintenance of the sewer network and associated assets, operate plant and equipment, and conduct cleaning, basic maintenance, and fault-finding.
Experience
This role suits someone with previous manual labour experience capable of carrying out all tasks. Drainage knowledge and a mechanical background are advantageous.
About you
You must be physically fit and comfortable working in water, at heights, and within confined spaces. Participation in a pre-employment medical is required. As part of critical safety requirements, you must always be clean-shaven and weigh less than 110kgs due to lifting equipment for man-riding. You should be prepared to work outdoors and in confined spaces year-round.
Qualifications
A full manual UK driving license is essential; a 7.5t license is desirable.
