We are looking for a Universal Credit Migration Advisor to provide hands on support to residents in assisting with the provision of various benefits, resulting in a high-quality service that ensures compliance with standards set by GHA, local authorities and regulators as applicable.
The post holder will work closely with Income Management Team, Resident Services and other colleagues to develop, and continuously improve performance across all KPI’s and resident satisfaction.
Your accountabilities will include but not limited to:
• Provide welfare benefits advice and advocacy to residents through own knowledge and utilizing online resources/tools.
• Support residents with the move from Housing Benefit to Universal Credit, including hands on support to residents who are finding it challenging to complete and submit relevant forms.
• Policy Compliance: Familiarize yourself with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry best practices related to income management and arrears recovery. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Processing Fuel Fund vouchers, DHP applications, Housing support fund requests and all other such requests for the benefit of the tenants
• Data Analysis: Assist in analyzing income and arrears data to identify trends, patterns, and areas of concern. Contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations to support decision-making and process improvements
• Financial Assessments: Assist in conducting financial assessments to determine tenants' eligibility for financial support, benefits, and rent subsidies.
• Collaborate with tenants to explore options for income maximization and signpost them to appropriate support services

Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
• Knowledge and understanding of Universal Credit and the broader welfare benefits system
• Experience in welfare benefits advice, specifically related to Universal Credit and housing benefits
• Experience in housing or tenancy support, particularly around rent payments and arrears
• Problem-solving and case resolution, handling issues related to UC claims
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex processes in a clear and approachable way
• Universal Credit system: UC application process, payment structure, and claim management
• Welfare benefits: Understanding of the interaction between legacy benefits and UC
