About the Role
The Home Office works to build a safe, fair and prosperous UK through its work on counter-terrorism, policing, crime, drugs policy, immigration and passports. Immigration Enforcement is responsible for enforcing immigration laws, tackling illegal migration, and removing offenders from the UK, while disrupting organised criminal groups exploiting vulnerable people.
We are seeking an Administrative Officer (AO) to provide critical administrative and coordination support across the end-to-end licensing enforcement process. The successful candidate will monitor and maintain the team’s shared mailbox, act as a central point of contact for external licensing partners including local police forces and local authorities, and represent the Home Office in communications.
Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate systems, preparing, dispatching and tracking review packs to support timely licensing enforcement, and providing vital liaison between the Licensing Team and local authorities, particularly regarding premises licence requests.
The role sits within the Interventions, Sanctions and Compliance (ISC) unit of Immigration Enforcement, which ensures only those eligible can access work, benefits and services. The Licensing Compliance Team leads responses to cases where licensees breach licensing conditions, especially by employing individuals without the right to work in the UK. This supports the Home Office Illegal Working strategy.
This role may involve working within different teams depending on business priorities, offering opportunities to broaden experience and skills with appropriate training and support.
