About the Role
Join our forward-thinking approach at the Greenwich 24 Hour Central AMHP Team. We are passionate about delivering high-quality Adult Mental Health services within an innovative learning organisation. This full-time Advanced Practitioner/Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) role offers excellent training and great benefits, making Royal Greenwich an ideal place to progress your career.
Our Central AMHP Team provides a single point of access for all Mental Health Act 1983 (2007) assessment requests. The team consists of Advanced Practitioners who are qualified practicing AMHPs, a team manager, and an administrator. The service covers all age ranges and works collaboratively with specialist services including children’s mental health and learning disability services.
The role involves providing timely responses to assessment requests, managing complex high-risk referrals, and ensuring less restrictive, appropriate interventions through a multi-disciplinary, strength-based, person-centred approach. You will work closely with community teams, service users, carers, and networks to promote mental health wellbeing, independence, and personalised outcomes.
We support our AMHPs with 24/7 access to an AMHP-qualified manager, 1-to-1 reflective post-assessment supervision, peer group forums, mentoring, annual AMHP training, structured induction, and ongoing professional development opportunities. You will also have protected time to maintain your professional portfolio and opportunities to contribute to the education of social workers and trainees.
Please note, if appointed, you will be employed by the Royal Borough of Greenwich and seconded to Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust.
