About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a committed and motivated Advisory Teacher for Vision Impairment to join the Ealing Sensory Support (SENS) Service. We are expanding our Vision Impairment (VI) team and service offer, creating a dynamic, innovative, collaborative, and supportive environment within a growing multi-disciplinary service.
You will be part of a full-time, permanent team supporting children and young people with vision impairments across the borough. A job share would be considered for the right candidates.
Ealing is a diverse borough committed to providing high-quality support to families, schools, and settings to enable inclusion and achievement for children with vision impairment. The service is part of ESCAN (Ealing Services for Children with Additional Needs), which includes health therapy services such as Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Audiology, Child Development Team, Educational Psychology, and the SEN Assessment Service, offering real opportunities for multi-agency working.
The role involves working across multiple locations within the borough, with public transport and mileage costs reimbursed. A full clean driving licence is advantageous due to the nature of the work.
A Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) allowance is available for qualified teachers of Vision Impairment who take on identified areas of responsibility within the service. Experienced qualified teachers willing to undertake the mandatory qualification will initially be appointed on a teaching salary with 1 SEN point, moving to SEN point 2 upon successful completion of the qualification. The mandatory training is distance learning funded by Ealing Council.
