About the Role
Southwark College, part of NCG, is seeking an experienced ALS Funding Manager to lead the coordination of Additional Learning Support funding claims for learners aged 16-25 and oversee the effective deployment of classroom-based Learning Support Workers. This role supports both the discrete Supported Learning provision, where learners with mild to moderate learning needs are taught in small groups of 8-10, and learners with Education, Health and Care Plans completing vocational courses in the wider college setting. Based at the Southwark College site, the successful candidate will be part of a large team of Supported Learning staff with access to excellent resources and modern classrooms.
This position is central to ensuring learners with additional needs receive timely, high-quality support and that the college secures and evidences funding accurately, consistently, and in line with statutory and funding requirements. Key responsibilities include leading and managing learning support provision for students with additional learning needs or disabilities, line managing Learning Support Workers, ensuring students’ needs are identified and met through support planning and transition arrangements, managing and monitoring support funding and compliance, and working collaboratively with curriculum teams and external partners to improve support processes and deliver training.

Experience
Proven experience in managing Additional Learning Support funding and coordinating support for learners with additional needs. Experience in line managing staff and working within an educational setting is essential.

Committed to inclusive education and improving outcomes for learners with SEND. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners. Organised and detail-oriented with a focus on compliance and quality assurance.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in education, SEND, or related fields are desirable. A commitment to ongoing professional development and understanding of statutory and funding requirements related to Additional Learning Support.
