Assistant Nurse Manager
Location
Twickenham, London. Conveniently located near public transport with Strawberry Hill station a 3-5 minute walk and the closest bus stop 1-2 minutes walk away.
Hours
Part time, 25 hours per week.
Salary
£20 per hour, with an additional £1.00 per hour for Mon-Fri nights (10:00pm to 6:00am) and weekends (Saturdays and Sundays). A £1000 pro rata payment is made on the anniversary of your appointment as a Nurse at Roy Kinnear House after 01 April. Terms and conditions apply.
About the Role
Roy Kinnear House supports six individuals with profound and multiple learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and complex health needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to enhance their quality of life by supporting them to live with dignity, comfort, and joy. As a Nurse, you will provide clinical care including nutrition and hydration, monitoring vital signs, postural care, catheter care, medication administration (including injections), suctioning, and wound management. You will maintain shift leadership over care and support, provide direction to the team on duty, write and monitor support plans, risk assessments, clinical protocols, and guidelines. Additionally, you will assist in managing and supervising support staff, including conducting observational feedback sessions, ensuring adherence to support documents, and overseeing compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
Experience
At least two years’ experience working with people in a community setting. Proficient skills and knowledge in supporting PEG and PEJ feeding, epilepsy management, oral suctioning, monitoring vital signs, postural care, tissue viability, catheter care, and medication administration including injections.

Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Nurse Learning Disabilities (RNLD) qualified. Strong commitment to delivering high quality care. Ability to communicate effectively with people who communicate verbally and non-verbally, including understanding PECs. Ability to develop good working relationships internally and externally. Skilled in problem solving and creative solutions. Compassionate, caring, observant, genuine, and proactive in responsibilities.
Qualifications
Level 1 Registered General Nurse or Learning Disabilities Nurse qualification required.
