About the Role
The Assistant Project Officer (Regeneration, Enabling and Development) plays a key role in supporting the delivery of the Council’s social and affordable housing ambitions. You will assist in identifying, assessing, and prioritising regeneration, enabling, and development opportunities that align with the Council’s strategic housing goals, progressing these to project initiation. Your responsibilities will include supporting the feasibility, affordability, and quality assurance of housing regeneration programmes and projects, including financial appraisals and compliance with Construction Design and Management (CDM) requirements. You will help develop business cases and project approvals, ensuring delivery to agreed specifications and budgets while collaborating with stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for Sutton and its communities.
You will also contribute to ensuring that new homes and communities are safe, affordable, and consistent with council aspirations, managing risks at programme and project levels to maintain business continuity and governance. Experience
- Some experience in housing, planning, asset management, or transferable skills from other sectors
- Experience managing projects and contracts with consultants or suppliers
- Proven track record of delivering against targets and driving continuous service improvement
