About the Role
As an Assistant Psychologist within Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, you will support psychological therapists by assisting with assessments and interventions such as risk assessments, neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, observations, and semi-structured interviews under supervision. You will contribute to the design and implementation of service development projects and attend relevant meetings to support service improvements. The role involves delivering evidence-based psychological interventions and developing psychologically informed frameworks of care to benefit service users. You will also conduct literature searches, collate audit and outcome data, analyse relevant information, and produce reports to enhance service delivery. Participation in multi-disciplinary meetings and contribution to clinical and administrative tasks appropriate to your grade are expected. Additionally, you will engage in research activities including data collection, analysis, and report production to promote evidence-based clinical practice. You will be responsible for managing administrative systems, maintaining records, preparing materials for clinical groups, and ensuring compliance with Trust policies and procedures. Maintaining confidentiality, information governance, and adherence to professional ethics and guidelines are essential aspects of this role.
Experience
Previous experience in psychological assessment or intervention is desirable but not essential. You should be willing to work under supervision and develop your skills within a clinical psychology setting.

You must be able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality and information governance. A commitment to ethical practice in line with the BPS Code of Ethics and Conduct and Division of Clinical Psychology guidelines is essential.
Qualifications
A degree in Psychology or equivalent qualification is required. You should be working towards or have completed relevant training to support your development as an Assistant Psychologist within the NHS.
