About this role… Thames Reach’s Outreach teams operate across London and helps those who are rough sleeping to find routes away from the street. The teams respond rapidly and work flexibly to reach people. Individuals are assessed to identify their support needs and support plans are created, including work to obtain identification, access health services and refer to other specialist agencies, including those offering immigration support. We are looking for an Assistant Support Worker to join the Lambeth Outreach team. Thames Reach welcomes applications from people with transferable skills. You will: .Work with people who are accommodated in temporary accommodation and support them to move to longer term accommodation options .Work alongside more senior colleagues to identify the fastest and most appropriate move on plans for people living in temporary accommodation .Provide direct support to people living in temporary accommodation with identified support needs .Maintain and support relationships with partner agencies .Accurately record all work completed within given timeframes To succeed as the Assistant Support Worker ,you will have: .A strong commitment to providing a high standard of service .An understanding of homelessness which can be based on your professional work, voluntary experience or personal experience .Good written and verbal communication skills .The ability to work well within a team .The ability to learn and an enthusiasm for training and acquiring new skills .A mature and thoughtful approach to equal opportunities and diversity in service provision We are listed in the top 100 UK Best Workplaces 2023 in the UK.
