Travel Partnerships and Advertising helps partners, including hotels, vacation rentals, airlines, destination marketing organizations (DMOs) and more, deliver excellent traveler and B2B experiences. We drive growth for our partners and the Expedia Group marketplace through competitive supply and our leading advertising and travel media network.
We seek a driven and enthusiastic Account Manager to join our Air Partnerships Team, focused on nurturing and growing local relationships with our airline partners in the EMEA Region. You will manage a select portfolio of regional accounts in a scalable, impactful way—primarily in EMEA. In this role, you will blend strategy with collaboration, developing and executing initiatives that enhance our competitive edge and deliver value to Expedia Group's broad traveler base and most valued partners. This involves analyzing performance to uncover growth opportunities and working cross-functionally to ensure seamless service delivery. You will also contribute by sharing insights and best practices across our global Air Partnerships team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing localized business strategies for air supply in the EMEA Region, in consultation with Senior Air Account Managers, to optimize partner relationships and position Expedia Group as the partner of choice.
- Building and maintaining relationships with locally strategic airline partners, including key decision-makers, managing day-to-day interactions and regular one-on-one meetings.
- Proactively sourcing, securing, and operationalizing more competitive content with strategic partners, and managing competitor analysis to ensure deal competitiveness.
- Interpreting data related to product and service performance to ensure airline partners recognize and receive value.
- Creating opportunities to strengthen local airline partner accounts, recommending products and insights that meet partners' needs.
- Collaborating with Regional Account counterparts to adopt scalable business rhythms for managing regional accounts.
- Identifying Expedia Group’s products, services, and solutions that benefit airline partners and presenting compelling value propositions.
- Learning contract negotiation processes and completing contractual arrangements with support from Senior Air Account Managers and legal resources.
- Acquiring and maintaining knowledge of financial data and commercial constructs to understand the impact of your work.
- Collaborating on Strategic Account Plans and business reviews, providing data, market insights, and analysis.
- Staying aware of policies, practices, trends, and market information impacting the organization and airline partners.
- Supporting business development, product improvement, innovation, and site enhancement efforts by contributing market insights.
- Representing Expedia Group at local travel industry events and functions as required.
- Some domestic and international travel may be required to collaborate with the broader Global Air Partnerships team.
Experience
Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience.
Proficiency in English for both oral and written communication; additional languages are a plus.
Proven ability to manage a portfolio of accounts, identify and close opportunities, and apply sales skills effectively.
Strong analytical skills with attention to quality control and organizational abilities.
Understanding of contractual terms and their application in business relationships.
Knowledge of the travel industry is desirable; experience or exposure to the aviation industry is a plus.
