About the Role
Lush Digital is undergoing a total transformation, placing digital at the center of everything we do. We are seeking an experienced Backend QA Engineer to join our high-performing, cross-functional engineering team. In this role, you will focus on ensuring our APIs, databases, microservices, and server-side logic are fast, reliable, secure, and scalable. You will work across product teams to validate approaches, catch complex edge cases early, drive automation, and ensure feature updates never compromise global stability.

Key responsibilities include designing, executing, and maintaining test suites for GraphQL and REST APIs; building and maintaining automated test frameworks in TypeScript or Python; writing complex database queries to verify data flow and backend consistency; testing distributed microservices and asynchronous workflows; conducting performance and security testing; diagnosing defects using tracing and log analysis tools; and collaborating within an autonomous agile team to advocate for quality throughout planning and architecture discussions.

Experience
Minimum 2 years of dedicated software testing experience with a strong focus on backend architecture, API testing, and data integrity.
- Hands-on experience with API tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or Insomnia.
- Proficient in database querying with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
- Skilled in writing and maintaining backend test suites in TypeScript or Python.
- Familiarity with Docker containerization and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
- Experience with performance and load testing tools (k6, JMeter, Locust, Gatling) is desirable.
- Knowledge of message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ and distributed microservices is a plus.
- Understanding of security compliance standards such as OWASP and NIST 2.0 CSF is advantageous.
- Experience in retail, e-commerce, or fast-paced digital operations is beneficial.
